K9 Yalco was retired in September of 2003.  K9 Yalco was a member of the Fond du Lac Police Department since 1998.  Some of K9 Yalco's acheivements include a DPO I (Germal Police Title) in September of 1998 (one of only 5 dogs in the state at that time to hold such a title), Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handler Association Certificate of Merit for K9 Rookie of the year in 1998, Outstanding Drug arrest in 1998 and Fond du Lac Police Unit award in 2001.  

Some of K9 Yalco's biggest arrests involved a drug search of a vehicle which led to the seizure of approximately $15,000 worth of cocaine and marijuana, and another drug search of a vehicle which led to the discovery of a marijuana growing operation.  K9 Yalco spent 2 years as part of the DARE program and was well know for his public appearances.  He was retired to the home of his handler, Sgt. Tina Braun.  He will be well missed.

 

Yalco's accomplishments/awards include:
