Fond du Lac Police Department

MALL DISTRICT

Not Staffed at this time

The Fond du Lac City Police Department officially opened its Police Community Services Center at Forest Mall on May 21, 1994. This joint effort between Mall management and the Fond du Lac Police Department allows for expansion and more efficient service to Forest Mall and the surrounding retail area. This is a high traffic area generating an above average demand for police response. The main purpose of the center is to provide police services and allow citizens easy access to a police representative.

The center, located centrally in Forest Mall, consists of a lobby area designed for community relations and distribution of community programs and safety information. It is highly visible to over five million shoppers utilizing the mall each year. In addition, the office area is staffed by an officer during peak hours which allows the officer to respond quickly to calls in the area. Lending itself to efficient police service, a photo and finger printing area in the office also allows for more timely processing of arrested subjects.

At this time no officer is assigned to the mall district on a regular basis. The mall officer also acts as a liaison to loss prevention officers of the community, holding monthly meetings at the center to enhance efforts of prevention and apprehension of offenders. During peak hours, the mall office is also staffed with volunteers such as auxiliary officers and police explorer scouts.
